Job Description

A Junior Machine Learning Engineer (MLE) works as part of a cross-functional and collaborative product team to support an existing AI/ML product. By teaming up with more experienced engineers a Junior MLE gets the opportunity to learn more and further grow their understanding in all parts of the ML development lifecycle. A Junior MLE has a solid understanding of engineering principles as well as foundational understanding of common AI/ML algorithms/paradigms combined with a keen interest in advancing their technical knowledge and skills in building AI/ML products.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing and maintaining high-quality AI/ML solutions by picking up smaller and well-defined tickets from the backlog
• Improve your knowledge by learning from more experienced ML Engineers
• Participate in code reviews to improve your coding skills and learn about internal best-practices and coding standards
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving defects in existing AI/ML applications
• Engage in educational opportunities to improve your knowledge in the field -read professional publications, attend relevant conferences etc.
• Focus at setting up a learning journey to improve knowledge relevant to the role, such as programming, cloud development, MLOps etc.

Qualifications

• Applicable working experience or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related technical field
• Basic understanding of software development principles, algorithms, data structures and design patterns
• Knowledge in Python programming, and preferably also in other programming languages and paradigms such as Java, Go and SQL
• Theoretical understanding of common AI/ML algorithms and paradigms
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably one of the major cloud platforms
